The North Ware Schoolhoue is a 1 ½ story brick building on a cut granite foundation. It has a gable roof with a square belfry on the front roof ridge. It was constructed in 1856. The building remains relatively unaltered, except for the rear addition added in the 1960’s. The school house reflects Federal, Greek Revival and Italianate styles.

The Town of Weare was divided into 13 school districts in 1805. Town records indicate the school house was constructed for North Weare District No 16. In 1954 the property was sold to an individual who turned around and sold it to the Halestown Grange #287 in 1960. It has been under restoration since that time.
