It is at the conventum of Nazareth et Louis-Braille Institute, marking the 125th anniversary of the education of students with visual impairments in Canada, was unveiled the work of Quebec sculptor André Turpin, Into the Light. When the institute sold its building in 1987, and went to take possession of its new premises at Place Charles-Le Moyne, we moved the course work Turpin. And it is now near the metro station you can admire this evocative work, which was renamed Crossing the world, as it is no longer appropriate in this busy environment where the couple's situation of blind then takes a further dimension more tragic.
C’est à l’occasion du conventum de l’Institut Nazareth et Louis-Braille, marquant le 125e anniversaire de la scolarisation des élèves handicapés visuels au Canada, que fut dévoilée l’oeuvre du sculpteur québécois André Turpin, Vers la lumière. Quand l’institut vendit son immeuble, en 1987, et alla prendre possession de ses nouveaux locaux à la Place Charles-Le Moyne, on déménagea bien sûr l’oeuvre de Turpin. Et c’est maintenant près de la station de métro qu’on peut admirer cette oeuvre évocatrice qui fut rebaptisée Traversée du monde, titre on ne peut plus approprié dans cet environnement achalandé où la situation du couple de non-voyants prend alors une dimension encore plus tragique.
