Located along Main Street in downtown Alturas is a plaza for pedestrians to sit and relax. This area contains a number of wooden benches with local businesses who've sponsored each bench as well as a small area containing donor bricks. It appears this area was intentionally selected as a plaza to fill in a dirt lot that probably once housed a business. There is a tall flagpole at a bank nearby that is dedicated to veterans of foreign wars and offers a nice backdrop to this plaza.
