Built in 1912 as a public school, it was enlarged in 1938 as part of a WPA project. During World War II, it housed a leather school, leather goods once being major cash flow for Yoakum.

Sitting on a very large plot of land, box in by Elenora, Henrietta, Baxter, and Pat Cleburne Streets. The "official" address is 505 Elenora.

I came across this building completely by accident. We were living in Yoakum while my wife was in training at one of the local retail establishments. I was really upset to see the condition that this building was in.
