In das Gebäude ist eine Begegnungsstätte mit einer Islam-Bibliothek/Islam-Archiv, einem Bistro und mehreren Seminarräumen integriert, deren Bau von der EU und dem Land Nordrhein-Westfalen mit rund 3,4 Millionen Euro gefördert wurde.

[EN] The mosque was built in the traditional Ottoman style and can accommodate 800 worshipers in the prayer hall and 400 in the balcony, making it one of the largest mosques in Germany. The building has a floor area of 40 by 28 meters, a minaret of 34 meters and a 23 meter high silver-colored dome roof.

Integrated into the building is a library and an archive on Islamic topics, a bistro and several seminar rooms. The construction was funded by the EU and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, with around 3.4 million euros.
