This historic marker is on the southwest corner of the courthouse square in Snyder TX. If you read the text, it seems this marker is somewhat oddly placed. Blasterz are betting that it has been moved from the old super cool ATSF railroad depot a few miles away north on SH 350.

Given the 2 dates on the marker, Blasterz wonder if the marker was relocated from the old depot in 1999?
Marker Number: 4582

Marker Text:
In 1909, when rail service was vital to economic growth, Scurry County had one line but lacked connections to distant markets. Local residents backed C. W. Post of Garza County, who gave $50,000 to attract the Santa Fe Railway, then planning a route between Lubbock and Coleman. By the end of 1911, the Santa Fe completed its track across Scurry County and erected depots such as this for passenger and freight traffic. Serving the towns of Dermott, Hermleigh, Pyron, and Snyder, the Santa Fe contributed much to the commercial and agricultural development of the county. (1976, 1999)
