The inscription, cut into Portland stone and set into a brick wall, reads:

This Vestry
was extended by
public subscription in the
Jubilee Year
of the Reign of Her Most Gracious Majesty
Queen Victoria
March 1887
Rev W M Banks MA Vicar
Edward Evison
Edward Hunter Church Wardens

The building is still in use for the purpose for which it was constructed.

It looks as though a "correction" has been made to the year on the inscription as the last digit has been cut as a "6" and later changed to a "7".
Year of construction: 1887
