Within Winema Cemetery, a very-well-maintained cemetery, lies a WWII memorial made of white marble and in the shape of a tree. The memorial was dedicated by the Order Sons of Italy, an Italian American fraternal organization founded in 1905.

The following inscription is etched on the marble scroll:

A newspaper obit mentions he died in Greenland while serving with the Coast Guard on November 29, 1945. His funeral service wasn't held until November 15, 1947. He was 27 years and 28 days old at the time of his passing.
