Fort A La Corne
Fort St. Louis, 1753-57, was built by Chevalier De La Corne below the forks of the river. His first post in Saskatchewan, where the first grain was grown, marked the apex of French penetration of the West. It was the site of several later posts of Fort A La Corne pf the Hudson Bay Company, 1846-1932, and of the Nepowewin Mission Founded by Rev. Henry Budd, 1831.
