Originally called “Zoar Chapel” then “Merton Road Baptist Chapel”, it officially changed its name to “Bethel Strict Baptist Chapel” in 1945.

The official website contains a photo taken before it was struck by a bomb during the Second World War.

Unfortunately little else appears on the internet. I have found mention of a service held in 1845.

Many thanks to the chapels official website found HERE for the info supplied above.
