Steel obelisk about 12 inches high and 2 inches square with "U.S." on one side and "152-69" on another. On a 2-foot square concrete base which projects 8 inches. In the southeast quadrant of section 26, Township 160 N, Range 27 W.

The International Boundary Commission set BOUNDARY REF MON 152 in 1918 near a small island and 6.7 feet from station MUCK (a buried glass bottle). An IBC survey party in 1947 could find neither MUCK nor BOUNDARY REF MON 152, and reported that the area was buried in mud. In 1969, a NGS survey party working on behalf of the IBC set REF MON 152 69. There is, or was, a corresponding boundary reference marker across the Rainy River, in Ontario.

The coordinates are from my hand-held consumer-grade GPS receiver (HH2).

In Franz Jevne State Park. From the trailhead for the Hiking Club trail, in the upper campground loop, go north about 244 feet to a T-intersection, then northwesterly (left) about 94 feet. Mark is a few feet northeast of trail.

Following is the to-reach in the Minnesota Dept. of Transportation geodetic database:

2.0 MILE NORTHEAST OF BIRCHDALE, 2.0 MILES EAST ALONG TRUNK HIGHWAY 11 FROM JUNCTION OF TRUNK HIGHWAY 11 AND UNITED COUNTY ROAD 118, THEN ABOUT 0.5 MILE NORTHWEST OF COUNTY ROAD 85.
