Genoa's first two-story brick mansionwas built for his bride in 1855-56 by Mormon Station locator Stephen Kinsey, editor of the first newspaper (handwritten). It was the third land claim in Nevada. It was the site of elegant socials and the Genoa Seminary for young ladies in the late 1800's.
