Pathway is a very shiney, stainless steel sculpture. It is a tapering ribbon that spirals into the sky, with mirror-like reflectivity. The ribbon is about 4 inches think, starts out at the base about 5 feet wide and tapers down to a point at the top about 30 feet high. The ribbon spirals once about 360 degrees. It is a very elegant showpiece greeting visitors to the Dayton Art Institute.

The sculpture was a gift from John and Joy Safer in 2002. It is dedicated to the soaring spirit of Orville and Wilbur Wright.
