The description in the NGS database for the Benchmark has been rendered obsolete by the creation of Flaming Gorge Reservoir. Linwood is now underneath the waters of Linwood Bay. The sign for Rock Springs 66 miles no longer exists. New Description follows:

From the US Post Office in Dutch John proceed westward on South Blvd approximately 0.3 miles to the junction with US Highway 191. Turn right and proceed northward approximately 7.6 miles to Spring Creek Road. Turn left and follow Spring Creek Road westward approximately 2.4 miles to the station on the right. Remainder of Description remains unchanged:
45 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF ROAD. 2.4 FEET SOUTH OF WITNESS POST. ABOUT 1.5 FEET LOWER THAN THE ROAD, AND SET IN TOP OF CONCRETE POST PROJECTING 0.3 FOOT ABOVE GROUND.
