The description in the NGS database for the Benchmark has been rendered obsolete by the creation of Flaming Gorge Reservoir. Linwood is now underneath the waters of Linwood Bay. No trace of Clay Basin Road seems to exist exist. New Description follows:

From the US Post Office in Dutch John proceed westward on South Blvd approximately 0.3 miles to the junction with US Highway 191. Turn right and proceed northward approximately 7.6 miles to Spring Creek Road. Turn left and follow Spring Creek Road westward approximately 1.2 miles to the station on the left. Remainder of Description remains unchanged:
AT THE FOOT OF A SHORT STEEP GRADE, IN THE WEST EDGE OF A LARGE OUTCROP, 85 FEET SOUTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE ROAD, 67 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE CENTER OF THE SOUTH END OF A 48-INCH PIPE CULVERT (Not observed), 2.1 FEET SOUTHEAST OF A WITNESS POST, ABOUT 15 FEET HIGHER THAN THE ROAD, AND 2 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND.
