I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey reference mark from 1948 in poor condition. It was found uprooted from its original position and lying half buried on its side. I'm in the process of submitting this reference mark's condition to NGS to request that it be considered DESTROYED since it can no longer be used for surveying methods. If/when it does, I'll update its condition here. The NY0985's datasheet's description is incorrect in listing this mark as from 1943. It's actually from 1948.

NGS datasheet info form the NY0985 datasheet:

REFERENCE MARK NO 1 IS A STANDARD CGS DISK STAMPED--WORLOW NO 1 1943 (sic) SET INTO THE TOP OF A ROUND CONCRETE MONUMENT 30 CM IN DIAMETER, FLUSH WITH THE GROUND. THE STATION IS LOCATED 11.1 METERS (36.4 FT) NORTH FROM THE CENTERLINE OF THE ROAD 0.4 METER (1.3 FT) SOUTH FROM A FENCE
