An 11' high, black polished granite V-shaped monument is located in a dramatic setting near New Haven Harbor. It is inscribed with the names of 52 New Haven residents who were killed in the Vietnam War as well as the names of three men who were prisoners of war or missing in action.
On the left side of the there is a bronze medallion depicting the Vietnam service medal. The Vietnam memorial was created by sculptors Kenneth Polanski and Frank Pannenborg in 1988.
