This NGS Reference Mark is located just west of the junction of Hwy 31 and Red House Rd in Lake County, OR.

I recovered this National Geodetic Survey Reference Mark from 1984 in good condition. This mark is part of a benchmark series titled 'PAISLEY SOUTH BASE RESET' that originated with a station mark monumented in 1920 and later destroyed, then reset in 1971 and then destroyed again per the 2001 log description from the NGS datasheet.

Reference Mark 4 was established in 1984 after Reference Marks 2 and 3 were found uprooted. My posted coordinates will place you very close to this reference mark. The NGS datasheet description is adequate for disk recovery.

REFERENCE MARK NO 4 IS A STANDARD NGS DISK STAMPED--PAISLEY SOUTH BASE
1920 NO 4 1984--, SET INTO THE TOP OF A ROUND CONCRETE MONUMENT, 30 CM
IN DIAMETER, PROJECTING 10 CM ABOVE THE GROUND. THE STATION IS
LOCATED 13.1 METERS (43.0 FT) WEST FROM THE CENTERLINE OF HIGHWAY 31,
2.8 METERS (9.2 FT) NORTH NORTHEAST FROM A FENCE CORNER AND 1 METER
(3.3 FT) LOWER THAN THE STATION.
