Grave is in the churchyard of All Saints Church in Silkstone, Barnsley, South Yorkshire, UK.
Lead lettering is weathered but legible and reads-

a dear husband and father
EDWARD FIRTH
who died June 10th 1947
aged 50 years.
The lamp of love still softly gleams
across our book of memories.
JANE ELLEN (NELLIE) FIRTH
a dear wife and mother
who died Nov.17th 2000
aged 100 years.
Reunited
with the passing of time."
During her lifetime this lady will have seen many changes. In 1901 There was the death of Queen Victoria and the assassination of the American President William McKinley.

From the first silent films to films recorded on DVD and playable on home computers and Plasma televisions.
In Medical advancements the discovery of anti-biotics to the transplanting of donor organs. Kidney in 1954 by Dr. J.E. Murray in America. He was awarded the Nobel prize in 1990.
First human transplant 1967 by Dr. C. Barnard in South Africa.
1969 Neil Armstrong was the first man to walk on the moon.
1971 First space - Russian Salyut 1.
Two World Wars- The WW1 also known as the Great War 1914 until armistice in November 1918, peace signed in 1919. This was supposed to end world wars but the Second WW2 started in 1939 and ended in 1945. America joined after the Japanese attack on pearl Harbour.
The Village of Silkstone where this lady lived and is buried is in South Yorkshire on the edge of the Pennines. The grave is in the churchyard of All Saints Church which dates from 1495 but with a history going back to Saxon times.
