This church is associated with the Baptist Missionary Association of America. It is 1.3 miles WSW, as the crow flies, of the tiny village of Gateway; and about 2.7 miles NE, as the crow flies, of the bigger town of Garfield, AR; and about 1.1 mile south of the state boundary with Missouri. The church was organized in 1840. A plaque on the church tells us when this particular building was built. The Bayless Cemetery is directly across the road from the church.
