Built around 1835, it is Greek Revival in style, like most of the other buildings on the common. The main house is a 2 story structure, with a long ell. The is a barn on the property as well. A store and post office were located in the ell at one time. This is the oldest structure on the Wendell Common.

Marcus Stebbins was a civil war veteran, held various positions within the town and operated the store in the ell during the mid 1800's. Charles Lewis also ran the store and his wife was the post mistress.

James Clark was from an early settler family and probably was the one that built the house.
