The ferries on Lake Maggiore are operated by the Italian company Navigazione Lago Maggiore NLM. There are several different local connections in the Swiss part of the lake, as well as some long distance connections crossing the border to Italy.
The connections in the Swiss part of the lake are almost exclusively used as touristic scenic rides, because road transport, private or public, is always faster and cheaper.
There are several regular connections, you can buy one way or round trip tickets as well as day tickets. The largest of the landings is in Locarno, at the waymark coordinates, but tickets can be bought at any of the ten other landings as well.
