This area is a beautiful wilderness habitat for many species, including golden eagles, mountain goats, elk, bighorn sheep, moose, and grizzly and black bears. It's quite appropriate then that this statue, as well as statues of a grizzly bear sow and her cub and a mountain goat are located here at the Columbia Icefield Discovery Centre.
The statue depicts a life-size golden eagle perched on a tree stump and looking intently out into the distance, perhaps in search of prey. Unfortunately, no information about the statue is provided nor could we find anything about it on the internet. A sign adjacent to the statue just provides facts about golden eagles, but nothing about the statue.
