NZ0186 - USCGS 'M 6' Tidal BM - Ashland, OR - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey tidal BM from 1920 in good condition. It is monumented on top of a concrete banister (northernmost of two) that make up steps leading to the original Ashland Library entrance. This NGS benchmatk is also listed on a topography map as 'BM 1951'. The disk face is stamped with an elevation of '1950.291' and a designation of 'M 6' as well as the year '1920'. The NGS datasheet is adequate for station recovery and the posted NGS coordinates should place you very close to this mark.

AT ASHLAND, AT THE INTERSECTION OF EAST MAIN AND GRESHAM STREETS, AT THE MAIN ENTRANCE TO ASHLAND PUBLIC LIBRARY, IN THE TOP OF THE NORTH END OF THE WEST CONCRETE BANISTER POST, 4.7 FEET WEST OF THE CENTER OF THE CONCRETE STEPS, AND ABOUT 15 FEET HIGHER THAN EAST MAIN STREET.
