This simple story-and-a-half house was a common form of housing
for mechanics, artisms. & tenants.

This house was built by Emory Putnam around 1832. Although the Putnams were a prominent family in this district of Sutton nothing is known about Emory. The place was subsequently owned by Jason Bigelow, then by his daughter and her husband.
