The Cross-Eyed Cricket is a staple on the west side of Evansville, IN. Sitting right on the Lloyd Expressway, thousands of cars pass by each do and see the neon cricket in the window of this classic diner.
The Cricket is located at the corner of the Lloyd Expressway and 10th Ave. They have a full menu for breakfast and for lunches. Breakfast fare includes omelettes, biscuits/gravy, etc. The lunches have a full menu of sandwiches, burgers, and daily plate lunches. They also serve what some people call the best Chicken N Dumplings in the whole world.
They also have a huge variety of desserts. Pies and cakes are homemade daily and draw in many people just for dessert!
The building and decor are quite lacking, but the food more than makes up for it.
