The Main River has been prone to flooding over the centuries including a major flood in June of 2013. This flood gauge is mounted on the river side of the Alte Kranen. Water height is in decimeters above normal water level. The highest level ever recorded in Würzburg was in 1342 at 100 decimeters which is well above the top of this gauge.
