This brightly colored mural is painted on the south wall of the Ed Dupuis Building, a historic wooden commercial building that was erected in 1902. I did not see a date anywhere, but due to the brightness of the colors I believe it may have been painted within the last ten years.
The mural depicts a number of African animals and plants near a river. Among them are several elephants, a giraffe, cheetah, some birds, several flowering plants and palm trees.
The building is named for Edmond Dupuis, an early, prominent settler in the town of Gervais. The building has previous housed a saloon and a store; it is unclear whether it is currently in use.
