This fountain with the obelisk on top is located in the center of Freidorf,a cooperative housing complex in the west of Muttenz. The area was built up 1919-21, the fountain is from 1921 and commemorates the founding of this area. The area is considered the most important residential area of Switzerland from the period between the world wars and is listed as cultural property of national significance.
The obelisk is very thin, without any inscriptions, and a has a height of about six meters.
