The people of this parish like to remind visitors that they are the light of Christ in the community, which is why they give small candles to first-time visitors. It is a way of showing that they are welcome in the community. When we visited, we were given our candles, which have the name of the parish. Over the door to church they have the words "Enter a stranger but once."
They also have a thrift shop in a separate building on the grounds. One striking feature of that building is the mural on the side.
