West Ryde is a mid-sized station located about 18 kilometres from the Sydney CBD on the Northern Line to Epping. It serves as a stop for suburban and some inter-city (Gosford, Wyong and Newcastle) trains.
An elevated walkway connects Platforms 1 and 2 to Platform 3, which is adjacent to the bus stops and car park. The ticket office and a small concession stand sits on the elevated walkway.
According to Wikipedia: The station was opened as Ryde station on 17 September 1886. Ryde station's name was changed to West Ryde on 8 October 1945.
