In Raynham, along Mass Route 104, is a grassy area that has an anchor toward the rear of the area.

The site is on the southeastern side of Mass Route 104 and near the intersection of Route 104 and King Philip Street. There is parking along the road - be careful since this is a main road to Raynham Center. The anchor is located about 100 ft back, flanked by plants.

The anchor is a black solid iron object about 8 ft long and about 6 ft wide. The flukes are hinged. Identifying marks are on the anchor as well as "US Navy" and "1953." The anchor was not made at this location, but this location is where the first iron works were established in the Old Colony (also known as Plymouth Colony). A plaque closer to the road states that the Taunton Iron Works started in 1656 and ended in 1876.
