The Paddle River Dam Recreational Area is currently a small area that the County of Lac St. Anne is looking to develop. Close to the hamlet of Rochfort Bridge and the Town of Mayerthorpe this recreational area has a boat launch and 15 day use sites. Fishing, boating, water skiing and in the winter ice fishing are common activities here.

The dam is 115 metres wide and holds back 45 million cubic metres of water and is used for downstream flood control.

Recreation area development:
"In 2010 Lac Ste. Anne County requested a submission of a campground design concept for the Paddle River Dam. Various companies submitted proposals and after review of the proposals the contract was awarded to North Environment Landscape Architects Ltd. Proposed drawings for future campground development at the Paddle River Dam were created and presented to Lac Ste. Anne County Council. Currently Lac Ste. Anne County is working with Alberta Environment on the proposed future development at the Paddle River Dam to enhance community use of this beautiful recreation area. This development would see creation of new serviced / non-serviced camp stalls, washroom/ shower facility as well as other campground amenities. At this time proposed development will be completed in phases throughout the summer seasons to come. Lac Ste. Anne County Council is excited to proceed with development to this unique recreation area for County residents and visitors to enjoy for years to come. "
