Spectacle Island in Boston Harbor is neither a central artery nor a tunnel, yet the mark of the massive Central Artery/Tunnel (CA/T) project is on this island. That is because the decade+ project dumped much of its dirt here to cap the old dump and raise it to more than 170' at its summit. The new park opened this summer and CA/T benchmark SSW2 is on the seawall south of the visitor center, count 8 posts back from the end of the railing.
