This Harris County Control District benchmark reference disc is embedded in the concrete sidewalk on the East side of a bridge crossing the White Oak Bayou watershed at Huffmeister Road, just .4mi North of US Hwy 290. The benchmark is approx. 3' from the bridge's edge, 4' from road edge, and equidistant from either end of the bridge span. It is situated on top of the deepest end of the bayou at the bridge intersection.
Unlike similar flood control district benchmarks throughout Harris County, its "W" and "BM" designations usually etched on these disks seem have been purposefully erased. However, the benchmark is referenced on the Harris County Flood Control District's website (
