Visitors to the Palm Springs Air Museum might notice an extremely long series of bas relief panels depicting WWII aircraft in various scenes of battles. These panels were designed by artist Joe Wertheimer. From his personal website he says:
1995-1996:
Researched, Designed and Sculpted an 8’ high by 440’ long Bas Relief mural honoring the heroes of World War II’s Pacific and European air battles for the Palm Springs Air Museum, as well as designed the interior displays.
The panels blend in well with the rest of the building in terms of color and relief. Many visitors to the museum most likely won't give them a moment's notice, but I personally saw them standing out from the building's exterior and appreciated the work and effort that went into creating them. I also don't remember seeing any relief panels inside the museum but if a waymarker notices them, they can waymark them under this artist's name. :)
