Dieses Denkmal wurde 1934 im Auftrag des Gymnasium Dionysianum zur Erinnerung an die im 1. Weltkrieg Gefallenen Schüler und Lehrer errichtet.

Das Gedenken an die Gefallenen wurde dazu missbraucht, bedingungslose Bereitschaft zum Tod für Deutschland zu wecken.

Im Sinne des "Mythos der Jugend von Langemark" und von den 170 Gefallen Dionysianern nur die 57 erwähnt, die unmittelbar von der Schule in den Krieg gezogen sind.

Uns verpflichten die Toten der Kriege zu Frieden und Versöhnung.

This monument was established in 1934 by order of the high school Dionysianum in memory of the pupils and teachers liked in the 1 world war.

The memory of the liked was abused to wake up unreserved readiness to the death for Germany.

For the purposes of the ' myth of the youth of Langemark ' and from 170 fallen Dionysianern only 57 mentioned who have moved immediately from the school in the war.
