This NGS benchmark is located in a culvert along the railroad tracks just off Hwy 97 in Klamath County, OR.

I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey disk from 1954 in good condition. It is monumented flush with the surface on the northernmost part of a concrete retaining wall which comprises a pipe culvert and on the west side of the railroad tracks. This benchmark is also listed on a topography map as 'BM 4089.7'. The NGS datasheet is adequate for station recovery. My posted coordinates will place you very close to this benchmark.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1954 6.1 MI S FROM KLAMATH FALLS. 6.1 MILES SOUTH ALONG THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY RAILROAD FROM THE STATION AT KLAMATH FALLS, 0.1 MILE NORTH OF THE CROSSING OF A PRIVATE ROAD, AT A 36-INCH CAST IRON PIPE CULVERT, IN THE TOP OF THE WEST CONCRETE HEAD WALL, 11.6 FEET WEST OF THE WEST RAIL, 1.2 FEET SOUTH OF THE NORTH END OF THE HEAD WALL, AND ABOUT 3 FEET LOWER THAN THE TRACK.
