The best place to start the climb up to this trig point is from a point on the road eastwards from Castlebay(N56°57.627', W7°27.919'). The views from the trig point are fabulous. Looking south can be seen the islands of Vatersay,Sandray, Pabbay and Mingulay all of which has trig points on them. The trig point is still used as a passive station, number T1NL6799. The height given for this trig point is 383.133 metres above Outer Hebrides datum OSBM Bolt, Stornoway, NG Ref NB4228 3264
