Der Elisabethenbrunnen ist einer der bekanntesten Brunnen der Kurstadt Bad Homburg vor der Höhe. Er fasst eine Quelle, die 1834 vom Arzt Eduard Christian Trapp als Heilquelle zur Linderung von Magen- und Darmerkrankungen wiederentdeckt wurde. Quelle und Brunnen sind nach der Prinzessin Elisabeth benannt, der Gemahlin des Landgrafen Friedrich VI. von Hessen-Homburg und Tochter des englischen Königs Georg III.
Der Brunnen wurde mehrfach umgestaltet. Der weit sichtbare ionische Monopteros, erbaut 1916/18, erhebt sich über dem Quellhäuschen. Im Inneren des Tempels befindet sich eine lebensgroße Statue der Hygieía aus weißem Marmor. Tempel und Statue wurden, nach Skizzen von Kaiser Wilhelm II., von Hans Dammann aus Berlin ausgeführt.
Hygieía ist in der griechischen Mythologie eine der Töchter des Asklepios. Sie ist eine Göttin der Gesundheit und gilt als Schutzpatronin der Apotheker. Das Wort Hygiene wurde von ihrem Namen abgeleitet.

The Elisabethenbrunnen is one of the most famous wells in the spa town of Bad Homburg. It houses a mineral spring that was rediscovered in 1834 by the physician Edward Christian Trapp as a healing source to relieve stomach and intestinal disorders. Source and fountain are named after the Princess Elizabeth, the wife of the Landgrave Friedrich VI. of Hesse-Homburg and daughter of King George III.
The fountain has been redesigned several times. The highly visible ionic monopteros, build in 1916/18, rises above the spring house. Inside the temple there is a life-sized statue of Hygieía in white marble. Temple and statue were, based on sketches of Emperor Wilhelm II, made by Hans Dammann from Berlin.
Hygieía is, in Greek mythology, one of the daughters of Asclepius. She is a goddess of health and is considered the patron saint of pharmacists. The word hygiene is derived from her name.
