"The headquarters of Caixa Geral de Depósitos in Oporto, is located on Avenue of the Allies and was designed by architect Porfirio Pardal Monteiro in 1924, and completed its construction in 1931.
The look and monumental neoclassical, is counteracted, inside this building, an Art Deco environment for the design of irons and wainscoting. It is these details that modernize the work. The Pardal Monteiro contact with the magazines on the Exhibition of Decorative Arts, 1925 would set this chain reflexes, allied to his usual concerns with functional criteria and construction of the building.
Culturgest Porto of the Foundation Caixa Geral de Depósitos was installed in this building. This exhibition space includes a schedule that takes into account the specific nature of the space, a place architecturally very pronounced and decorative.
