Skulpturen forestiller en nøgen kvinde, der tørrer sine fødder. Hoffmann fandt inspiration til skulpturen på stranden ved Bellevue:”der får man jo tanker hen i den rigtige retning”.
Hoffmann skriver videre: ”Motivet er jo blot et påskud til at lave Skulpturen, løse et plastisk Problem for mig. Navnet kommer i anden Række”. Skulpturen handler altså om formgivning, mens titlen, Carina, blot var et tilpas poetisk navn.
The sculpture is in the image of a naked woman, drying her feet. Hoffmann found his inspiration on the beach at Bellevue: ‘a place where you get the right thoughts’.
Hoffmann continues: ‘The motif is just an excuse to make the sculpture, to solve a plastic problem for me. The name is less important’. The sculpture is about the design, while the title, Carina, is merely a suitable poetic name.
