This Historical Marker is mounted on a steel post in front of the ruins of a house inside Old Iron Town State Park Historic Site on Iron Town Road southwest of Utah Highway 56, west of Cedar City, Utah.

House
This was a private residence, and who lived here is unknown. The type of building rock for this house is found in abundance on the nearby hill. Some of the original timbers used for the floor are still visible. The nearby creek and the distance away from the Iron Works provided an ideal location. Notice the plaster on part of a wall indicating all the walls may have been plastered. This house is still very fragile. Please do not venture past this point.
