The Korean War Monument stands on the grounds of the
Person County Court House in Roxboro, North Carolina. The memorial which was unveiled on Veterans Day in 2011 was the result of the Eagle Scout service project of Adam Moore.
In his proposal to the Person County of Commissioners to erect the monument, Adam stated that both his grandfathers were Korean War veterans and he wanted to install a memorial at the courthouse to remember all veterans of the 'forgotten war'. The motion was unanimously passed.¹ Adam, a member of Troop 321 of Hurdle Mills, NC², raised the necessary funds to execute his vision.
The polished black granite monument is inscribed:

A gray relief of the map of North Korea and the Republic of Korea dominates the middle of the monument and the emblems of all the U.S. Armed Forces are inscribed on the base.
