Four generatios of the family have been involved in this nursery, which has been in busines for more than 55 years. It all started with Bernard and Florence Esch started their lawn maintenance business, which later influenced their daughter Merle, who married Robert Snodgrass, married and had 7 children, each of whom had a name that started with the letter "D". Robert ran the family garden center until 1975 when 2 of their sons, Drake and Dennis took over. Later, brothers Drew and Dean became partners, and the business continued to grow. There are currently four 7 locations (3 in Portland, one in Seaside).
The business has won numerous awards, and has a strong civic committment, giving much back to the communities they are located in.
