I recovered this U.S. Army Engineers Portland District survey mark from 1939 in good condition. It does not exist in the NGS database but appears on a topography map as 'BM S-199 1577'. It lies east of Upper Applegate Rd and just west of a wooden fence and about 12 feet north of a large tree. There is no witness post near the survey mark. The mark is a standard U.S. Army Engineers disk stamped 'S 199' with an elevation stamping of 1576 feet. There is also a stamping of '1939' on the disk face. It is monumented on top of a round concrete post projecting about 4 inches above the ground. My posted coordinates will place you very close to this station.
