Morrisons' Bishop Auckland store is built on the former railway goods yard and there is a large clock on the tower above the main entrance. It can be seen from the adjacent Newgate Street as well as from the large store car park.
The clock faces, there are three, are reminiscent of old railway clocks, a translucent face with black hour and minute markings, black Roman hour numerals, and a gold rim. The hands a re black with a gold median line. They are mounted within a circular 'drip moulding' of bricks.
The store is open 0800-2100 daily, but 1000-1600 on Sunday.
