The Taupo i-Site is located steps from Lake Taupo, the largest lake in New Zealand and at the heart of a tremendous tourist destination.
Things to do in the region include viewing powerful Huka Falls, dining on the waterfront, water-based activities from tame to thrilling, art galleries, etc. The mountains and volcanoes of Tongariro National Park form a brilliant backdrop for Lake Taupo and this area is the launching pad for trekking, skiing and backcountry activities in the Park. The small town of Turangi, on the southern shores of Lake Taupo, is a hub for trout fishing.
Go to the i-Site for information on these activities and more.
