Here you can see a monument to Friedrich Fröbel! It shows dice, roller and ball, the basic shapes of his game gifts! The dice is for the rest, the ball is moving and the roller stands for the combination of both.
Friedrich Fröbel (21.April 1782 - 21.June 1852) was a German pedagogue and created the concept of the "kindergarten" and also coined the word now used in German and English. 1840 he had founded the first "kindergarten" in Bad Blankenburg.
Dies ist ein Denkmal an Friedrich Fröbel! Es zeigt den Würfel, die Walze und die Kugel, die Grundformen seiner Spielgaben. Der Würfel steht für die Ruhe, die Kugel für die Bewegung und die Walze steht für die Kombination aus beidem!
