A standard Queensland State Survey Mark on The Sphinx walking track, Magnetic Island.

This survey mark is placed on a concrete slab beside a walking track, in the National Park on Magnetic Island. Interestingly, this mark is located in a gully at the base of the feature, not at the top as we would have expected. The mark was discovered while heading up the track to the Sphinx to find the nearby cache during a recent caching trip to the Island.
To get to this mark, park in the pull over bay on Horseshoe Bay RD and walk back to the trailhead which is about 50m down from the parking area. The Trail is closed and in disrepair, but the marker is only 10 meters in from the road.
If anyone has access to the records, I would be interested to know if this Mark is suposed to be here, or has been moved here?
